There are many ways to support survivors of domestic and sexual violence in our community. One way is to participate in our events. From our biggest fundraiser of the year, Taste Of Downtown Carson, to wearing purple in October, thank you for showing your support. Please check back often for upcoming events.
Season Of Giving: Adopt A Family – November – December
Spread some holiday cheer to a family in need this season. Families who have stayed in the shelter during the past year are up for adoption by community groups, churches, offices and individuals. From Thanksgiving meals to toys for Christmas, donors are paired with a family and receive a simple wish list of needs and wants. Share Your Christmas Food Drive – December
AEDV will hold our primary food drive at the Governor’s Mansion on December xx in partnership with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada and KTVN Channel 2. Please join us and drop off nonperishable food items from 6-10am. Your donation helps stock the shelter food pantry. For information, call at (775) 883-7654.
Classy Seconds Anniversary Sale – November 11
Let’s celebrate our sixth anniversary in our new-ish location at 3590 Gordon Street together. Find treasures while supporting shelter residents and those in need in our community. Good are made available free of charge to those in need, and proceeds benefit survivors through programs, services and emergency shelter.
Domestic Violence Awareness Month – October
Show your support for those affected by domestic violence. Attend events, community functions and support groups that lift up survivors. Listen, speak out and make your voice heard that domestic violence is never okay.
